JOB SUMMARY
The Site Services Manager will have responsibility for the operational, commercial, and day-to-day performance of the Service, Site Projects, and Passivation departments within BCD Engineering Ltd.
The role will involve managing service operations, coordinating project delivery, developing customer relationships, preparing quotations and estimates, and supporting the continued growth of the Site Services business. The successful candidate will be expected to balance commercial awareness with strong operational leadership, ensuring projects and services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The Site Services Manager will work closely with customers, internal teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure successful project execution, high levels of customer satisfaction, and effective utilisation of labour and resources.
This is a hands-on management role requiring a practical and solutions-focused individual with strong operational capability, customer-facing experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects and service activities simultaneously.
The Site Services Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial and Financial Performance
• Prepare quotations, estimates, and service proposals in line with customer requirements and company objectives.
• Support the development of new and existing customer relationships to help grow the Site Services business.
• Monitor project costs, labour utilisation, and department performance to support profitability and operational efficiency.
• Work with management to develop realistic sales and operational targets for the department.
Customer Liaison and Project Management
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure project and service requirements are clearly understood and delivered effectively.
• Build strong working relationships with customers through reliable project delivery and responsive service support.
• Support projects from enquiry and quotation stage through to completion and final close-out.
• Attend customer meetings, site walks, and project reviews as required.
Project Coordination and Delivery
• Coordinate labour, equipment, subcontractors, and materials to ensure projects and site services are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Plan and manage daily operational activities across service and site teams.
• Ensure works are completed in line with agreed schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer expectations.
• Ensure effective communication between site teams, customers, subcontractors, and office functions.
Health & Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and client site requirements.
• Promote strong safety behaviours and continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Conduct regular safety reviews, audits, toolbox talks, and site inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure all personnel are appropriately trained and compliant with site and company safety requirements.
Working Conditions
• Combination of office, site, and travel-based work across Ireland.
• Flexibility required for shutdowns, weekend work, and critical project schedules.
Education & Experience
Experience
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in engineering, site services, maintenance, construction, or project delivery within the pharmaceutical, industrial, manufacturing, or process sectors.
• Experience managing site-based teams, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent projects or service activities.
• Strong operational background with practical experience in project coordination and service delivery.
• Experience preparing quotations, estimating works, and managing customer relationships.
• Previous experience in mechanical services, pipework, maintenance, passivation, commissioning, or industrial services would be advantageous.
Education
• Degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mechanical Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant Health & Safety training or certification is desirable.
