Job Summary
The Passivation Team Leader is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of passivation and specialist chemical cleaning works within pharmaceutical and high-purity process environments across Ireland. The role involves managing three field crews (3 personnel per crew), coordinating daily site activities, pricing and planning works, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring all projects are delivered to GMP, safety, and quality standards.
The Team Leader acts as the operational link between site crews, clients, and management, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Management
Lead and coordinate three passivation crews operating across multiple client sites.
Plan labour allocation, scheduling, and mobilisation of personnel, equipment, and materials.
Ensure all works are completed in compliance with GMP, client procedures, RAMS, and company SOPs.
Conduct site visits, audits, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field teams.
Monitor project progress and resolve operational issues efficiently.
Project Delivery
Manage projects from enquiry through to completion and final reporting.
Liaise with pharmaceutical clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
Ensure works are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety onsite.
Estimating & Pricing
Review client enquiries, tender requests, and scope of works.
Prepare quotations and pricing for passivation and specialist cleaning projects.
Estimate labour, equipment, chemical, and logistics requirements.
Identify opportunities for additional works and service improvements.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Irish health & safety legislation and pharmaceutical site standards.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and waste materials.
Working Conditions
Combination of office, site, and travel-based work across Ireland.
Flexibility required for shutdowns, weekend work, and critical project schedules.
Education & Experience
Essential
Previous experience in passivation, chemical cleaning, or pharmaceutical mechanical services.
Experience supervising multiple site crews or teams.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/GMP environments.
Experience pricing and coordinating industrial or mechanical service works.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Full clean driving licence.
Strong safety awareness and leadership capability.
Desirable
Background in stainless steel passivation or high-purity piping systems.
Knowledge of CIP systems and process pipework.
IOSH / Safe Pass / Manual Handling / Confined Space certifications.
Experience using project scheduling or reporting software.
Mechanical or process engineering background.
Education
Degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mechanical Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
