JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, The Materials & Welding Documentation Coordinator is responsible for accurately recording vessel materials, welding activities, and related inspection data to support smooth and efficient vessel fabrication. This role involves organizing and documenting materials prior to fabrication, working closely with chargehands and other departments to identify materials and welders, and proactively addressing issues that may impact production. The coordinator also assists with the scheduling and organization of required NDT activities—including X-ray and dye penetrant testing—with external third-party providers and ensures all NDT reports are properly coordinated and submitted to the documentation team. Additional inspection-related duties may be assigned as needed to support quality and compliance throughout the fabrication process.

 

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete entry of vessel materials and welding information into database ensuring accuracy and keeping pace with vessel fabrication and schedule.

  2. Organizing and documenting materials before fabrication starts

  3. Work closely with chargehands to identify and document materials and welders

  4. Aim to identify potential challenges and resolve any issues that may arise. Work closely with the changehands, design team, stores and quality depts to resolve them.

  5. Assist Inspection Engineer with NDT of vessels as required, X Ray, Dye Penetrant testing with external 3rd party 

  6. Co-ordinate NDT reports and records with documentation dept

  7. Other inspection related duties as required.

 

Education & Experience

  1. Experience with computers and scanning systems is essential. 

  2. Experience in weld and fabrication inspection is desirable.

  3. Experience with vessel fabrication is desirable.

  4. Ability to work flexible hours as required.

  5. Good communication skills, proficiency in English
